Great looking exclusives along with lots of third-party support are what steal thunder. Remember the FFXIII multi-platform announcement? Or the Portal 2 announcement? Or how Mass Effect was sore point for half the console gamers for some time.. Those are the kind of things that really rile up the gamers. The hardware reveal is simply to keep Microsoft from singly gaining traction.
Sony wants to prevent the Xbox from being the only thing talked about. Revealing their cons...
Hmm... I don't know how I missed this tidbit of information before. You got me excited now.
That and hoping you never hear the dreaded click of the disc laser. Happened to both my Xbox 360 and my Gamecube. Although, the Gamecube was more like a crack with a piece of plastic rattling around with my newly purchased Windwaker. o_O
They really have treated the PS3 poorly this generation. You would think given that Sony owns a certain percentage of Square Enix that would start twisting their arm a little. SE promises Sony games, but at this point their words are only bitter platitudes. Last Remnant, FFXIV, and FFvXIII are some examples that I can think of off the top of my head.
The most I could see him do is have his games published by Square Enix. That'll be probably be the extent of his involvement with Square Enix anymore besides the musicians who are contracted to write the scores for games.
You and I feel the same. I didn't play FFVII as a kid, so it is difficult for me to appreciate the game as many others do. I want to enjoy it, but it just feels too clunky for me. I have been spoiled by newer games. =(
Some games just seem to age better than others. I only just played Metal Gear Solid this generation, but the graphics didn't bother me a bit. In fact, because I was a Nintendo die hard back then, the voice acting blew me away (N64 never had much in ...
I think they will end up modifying the position light bar. It appears to be at a bad angle unless you place the camera on the ground looking up at your hands. It looks as if you have will have to tilt the controller towards the player in order for the bar to be visible for a camera that is around TV height. ...Or maybe I just have terrible posture. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Eyeco
I remember 2006-08 were some tough years for Sony on this website. Many of the trolls on both sides of the fence have come and gone by now. The bubble system back then somehow allowed them to always have 10 bubbles and be the only ones to comment. It's largely quite now besides the agrees and disagrees.
Good times....
Although, I do miss my 10 bubbles :'( from back then. I worked hard for them.
Realism isn't everything. There is still room for fantastical artistic direction in world where photo-realism fast being a capability. Just look at Pixar movies versus Avatar. Both are almost entirely CG, but one eschews photo-realism. Despite this difference both are still enjoyable.
If anything I would say that the images in the link as they are are a little simplistic. But that's just because we are looking at static models. Adding some characters, animals, s...
It's not about the mobile games being better than console games; rather, it's more about the amount money that can be made in the mobile sector. The mobile sector is something entirely new and still growing, so many are trying to capitalize on it.
A mobile gamer doesn't mean a converted console or PC gamer. They just happened to be a new member in the gamer family that otherwise would probably never thought about games if it weren't for their phone or tablet...
X-2 was meant to be somewhat lighter in terms of story, but functionally it's pretty good.
Yay! Someone else who actually watched the video. I am beginning to think much of the negativity surrounding Patcher is largely a result of irresponsible gaming journalists.
I really hope they don't drop the action RPG aspect of the game. That and the dark modern setting were probably the two points that most are looking forward to.
If they have changed it that much, I will feel very betrayed.
Theoretically it should have no relevance to the quality of the game if you can pay to cheat. Unfortunately micro-transactions might subtly enter into the design of the game.
For example:
"Weapon-specific ammo was allegedly switched for generic ammo late in development, too, as a method for shoehorning in the game's controversial micro-transactions."
While EA denied canceling Dead Space 4 in that recently hot article, this sort...
Thank you worthplaying.com. I didn't even realize that this offer was going on. You managed to both inform me and solve a problem at the same time. (^_^)
This was a nice write up explaining the costs go into making games. Hearing about some of their financial troubles makes me feel really guilty for not have purchasing the Skullgirls yet. Thankfully, they said that they are planning to bring it to PC, so they will get my money for sure now.
Ouch. There is a lot of hate for this little box here. While I am skeptical of its impact, I look forward to seeing how open the OUYA is promised to be. If it truly is open and everybody is allowed to tinker with it, I can see this being a nice little box that can help make supposedly "smart" TVs actually capable. I continue to be baffled that TVs don't have any real computing power yet. We have to keep buying extra things for them to operate beyond the few specialized Netfl...
I thought the same thing when I read the article. Emulation of PS2 and PSone is major plus for me. If current computers can easily handle emulation of those consoles, I see no reason why they shouldn't add emulation to the very PC-like PS4.
Streaming games is a nice feature to have, but it always falls short of proper backwards compatibility because of lag, compression, and the thought of repurchasing games you already own (shudders).

Love the Reggie-ster popup on this website.
My body is ready!
If anyone can do Sony well - it would be Kaz. I really hope we see Sony blossom under his leadership over the upcoming years.
